The Ridge, Shimla

The Ridge  road is a large open space, located in the heart of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. It runs east to west alongside the Mall Road, and joins it at the Scandal Point on the west side. On the east side, The Ridge road leads to Lakkar Bazaar, a wooden crafts market. The biggest hillstation of the world, at one time the base ridge of Shimla had the thickest forest of the area, now the green slopes are covered with first  pines, the Himalayan oak and carmine rhododendron trees, among which are dotted red-roofed chalets, half-timbered houses and Gothic Government buildings are visible from The Ridge.

Hidimba Devi Temple

Hidimbi Devi Temple , also known variously as the  Hadimba Temple , is located in  Manāli , a hill station in the State of  Himāchal Pradesh  in north  India . This was done in order to avoid his being able to repeat his masterpiece. In a ceremony called ‘Ghor Pooja', blessing of the ceremonial horse by the goddess is sought, which marks the commencement of Dussehra celebrations. 

Triund Hill Kangra

Triund is one day trek  of “Chamba Valley” and Kangra Valley. Triund Hill is located at a height of about 2,842 meters above sea level and with a distance of about 9 kilometers from Mc Leodganj located at height of 2,082 meters above sea level and 17 kilometers from Dharamsala.  Triund hosts the majestic views bestowed upon by Nature and possibly in the whole World the nearest snowline in the entire Himalayan mountain range, here snowline is located in the shortest distance of about 13 kilometers. Today, Triund  popular trail among the domestic tourists and the foreign tourists,   Three shops which provide tea, breakfast, lunch and dinner to the trekkers.  Lahesh Cave can shelter about 30 people comfortably. There is a snow fed waterfall by the side of Lahesh Cave.

Dalhousie

Himachal Pradesh, the hill station of Dalhousie is full of old world charm and holds lingering echos of the Raj era. Snow-covered Pir Panjal Range of mountains in Jammu and Kashmir,Pangi Valley of Chamba and Sach Pass are also visible form this enchanting town. Dalhousie is 485 km by road from Delhi and 52 km from Chamba. The closest railhead is Pathankot, 80 km away. The airport at Gaggal in Kangra is at a distance of 135 km . Taxis and buses are easily from these places.

Spiti Valley Himachal Pradesh

The Spiti Valley is a desert mountain valley located high in the Himalaya mountains in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Ladakh's lesser-known neighbor, is for travelers who dare to drift from the tourist trails.  Spiti's postcard villages remain remotely tucked away in the lap of the mighty,  and it is here that you can hike along Snow Leopard and Himalayan Wolf habitats, visit monasteries dating back over a 1000 years,  sample a fascinating culture and cuisine different from the rest of India, and meet the kindest of people who live the harshest of lives.  Spiti valley is via  Kinnaur  from Shimla route on a difficult 412 km long road.

Jagannathi Temple Kullu

Bekhli Temple or the Jagannathi Devi Temple is one of the famous temples of Kullu region. This temple is located at a height of 1800 m from the sea level.   this temple  1500 years old. It is dedicated to Goddess Bhuvaneshwari who is the fifth aspect of Goddess Shakti. Local people visit this temple regularly to take blessings of Bhuvaneshwari Devi.   The idols present in the temple give a resemblance of Rajasthani influences on Gaddi   tribal. The deity in this temple is gorgeously decorated. Jagannathi Temple is situated at Bhekhli, just 12 km from Kullu. From there one can have a wide view of the entire Kullu Valley and River Beas. Adi Brahma Temple

Adi Brahma Temple, Khokhan,  Himachal Pradesh .The four-tiered magnificent hansakara structure of the Adi Brahma temple is about 2,000 cms. tall. The formal arrangement of the temple as a whole is graceful, although the bottom tier is disproportionately wider.  Adi Brahma Temple is located in village Khokhan just 4 km from Bhuntar towards north, on a link road starting from Shamshi moving towards the village Khokhan at about same elevation as of Dayar temple of Vishnu across the valley. In Himachal Pradesh, another Adi-Brahma temple is at Tihri (Uttarsal) in Mandi district. At Khokhan, the Adi Brahma has one “ashta-dhatu”,. Kullu-Manali Airport at Bhuntar: 5 km  Manali town: 43 km 

Malana Kullu

Malana is an ancient village to the north-east of Kullu Valley. This solitary village in the Malana Nala, a side valley of the Parvati Valley, is isolated from the rest of the world. The majestic peaks of Chandrakhani and Deotibba shadow the village.  Malana has a history and it goes back to Jamlu rishi (sage) who inhabited this place and made rules and regulations. The village administration is democratic and is believed to be the oldest republic of the world. The social structure of Malana in fact rests on villagers' unshaken faith in their powerful deity, Jamlu Devta.  In addition to the taboo on physical contact and use of Kanashi by an outsider, there are many other restrictions. According to village rules, fixing nails on a tree is prohibited as that could damage the tree. Burning wood is also prohibited in the forests of Malana. Lord Raghunath ji Temple

The chief deity of Kullu is Raghunath Ji. Dussehra festival is held in its name. The idol is same which was used by Lord Rama himself at the time of Ashwamegh Yagya and was brought from Tretnath temple of Ayodhya.  It is said that Raja Jagat Singh used charanamrit of the idol for 42 days and was absolved from the evil effect of the curse of a Brahmin Durga Dutt. In the 16th Century, Raja Jagat Singh ruled over the prosperous and beautiful kingdom of Kullu. Kullu has a very pleasant climate and does not have high temperatures in the summer. The winter season starts from November and lasts till February and is really cold with the temperature dropping below the zero mark. Best time to visit Kullu is during the months of June to October. Khir Ganga

Khirganga is situated in Parvati Valley at a distance of 22 km from Manikaran. For Khirganga, one has to go by motor-able road up to a place called ‘Barshaini’ and from there to Khirganga on foot.  This trek leads through hilly terrain. This is the place where ‘Kartik Ji’, the elder son of ‘Lord Shiva’ remained in ‘samadhi’ for thousands of years. Kheer Ganga is one of the most refreshing treks that you can go on anywhere. The natural hot-water-spring experience is something that you will remember for a lifetime. Kasauli कसौली

Kasauli  located in Solan district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This small hill station seems to live in time warp that belongs to the 19th century. The narrow roads of Kasauli (1951m) slither up and down the hillside and offer some magnificent vistas.  The upper and lower malls run through Kasauli's length and one can enjoy longs walks. A mixed forest of pine, oak and huge horse-chestnut encircles the town. Its colonial ambience is reinforced by stretch of cobbled road, quaint shops, gabled houses with charming facades and scores of neat little gardens and orchards. Kasauli is connected by road. The closest broad gauge railhead is at Kalka, 37 km away. The closest airport are at Chandigarh, (65 km) and Shimla (73km). DHARAMSHALA

The High snow clad Dhauladhar ranges form a magnificent backdrop to the hill resort of Dharamsala. This is the principal township of Kangra district and overlooks wide spread of the plains. ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS :  Between May and October, the Dhauladhar ranges offer an enormous variety of trekking and rock climbing. PALAMPUR The airport is at Gaggal (Kangra) 37 km from Palampur. Nearest broad gauge railway station is at Pathankot at a distance of 115 km and the narrow gauge railway station is at Maranda, 4 km from the town. Taxis and buses are available at all places. By road Palampur is 545 km from Delhi.

Prashar Lake Mandi

Prashar Lake lies 49 km north of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, The temple was built in the thirteenth century and legend has it was built by a baby from a single tree. The lake has a floating island in it and it is said to be unclear how deep it is, with a diver not being able to determine its depth.

Manali, Himachal Pradesh

It's also a jumping-off point for paragliding, rafting and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass.

Bhagsunag Falls  

Trail to Shri Gunna Devi Mandir, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh 176219 Also called Bhagsu Falls, this site houses the famous Bhagsunath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Solang Nala Manali

Solang Nala derives its name from combination of words Solang and Nullah. It is a side valley at the top of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, India 14 km northwest of the resort town Manali.. on the way to Rohtang Pass , and is known for its summer and winter sport conditions. The sports most commonly offered are parachuting, paragliding, skating and   zorbing . Giant slopes of lawn comprise Solang Valley and provide its reputation as a popular ski resort. A few ski agencies offering courses and equipment reside here and operate only during winters. Snow melts during the summer months starting May and skiing is then replaced by zorbing (a giant ball with room for 2 people which is rolled down a 200 metre hill), paragliding, parachuting and horse riding. Bijli Mahadev

Bijli Mahadev is one of the sacred temples of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of about 2,460m in the Kullu Valley. Bijli Mahadev is one of the excellent temples in India.   One can reach Kullu first and then get a bus from the bus stand for Bijli Mahadev which goes up to the nearby 'Chansari' village. Rohtang Pass Himachal Pradesh

Rohtang Pass, is a high mountain pass on the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas around 51 km from Manali. It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh, India.   Rohtang road tunnel Due to the military significance of the highway and the need to keep it open the entire year, the Indian government began building the $320 million 8.5 km (5.3 mi) long Rohtang Tunnel in 2010 to bypass Rohtang pass for creating a much safer and faster year-around link to Keylong, Lahaul and Spiti and Leh in Ladakh. The tunnel will also shorten the distance by about 50 km (31 mi) and reduce the travel time between the southern and northern faces of Rohtang pass by five hours. While it now takes 4 to 6 hours to ascend, negotiate and descend the Rohtang pass, it will take only about 30 minutes to travel through the Rohtang tunnel.
